WOD Challenge 10-16-22 Up Early

I had planned on going or viewing church today, but nature and our situation had other ideas.

We were even up early and everything but had decided to host family dinner, so as soon as coffee and a light breakfast were consumed, we rushed off to the grocery store. Got back, put the roast and vegetables in the oven, and then had to run to the storage facility to get a recliner to replace the one that got fried in the flood at Kevin’s house.

By then, it was too late. Steve, Kevin’s neighbor, came and picked up the old chair, Dave and I put the new chai in its place, we had a visit from Dave’s brother, Robert (Bubba), and then my clothes were done and it was time to fold them. Dave has to cook a separate meal for me, but said he didn’t mind. I wonder how sick of chicken I’ll get before my stomach has settled down.

Soon the kids will be here and chaos will resume, so for now, I thought I’d get this written as we watch between the Twilight Zone marathon and football games.
I hate missing services, but hope my prayers will suffice, as well as good thoughts and prayers for all my family members going through their own transitions.

My oldest just secured a new job and house for he and his friends, my middle son is trying to find both, and my youngest is working hard and trying to get out from under a mountain of debt created by his current situation. His heart was in the right place, but having friends and family move in with him turned out to be a bad deal. I pray they all find their way in the world, because soon we will not be around anymore to rescue them.
