Answering Esther

Who asks, “Can you tell a story in 41 words?” every Thursday in her Can You Tell a Story challenge. Only she doesn’t always ask for 41, it could be whatever amount she chooses.

I participate in this challenge a lot, but usually in the comments of her blog posts.

Today, it was going to be a longer one and I like to BOLD the prompt words, so here goes:

Miranda stared at the mirage through her sweaty, dirt streaked eyes and her worm brain started to turn.

”Yancy!”

Yancy drug himself closer.

“ I ain’t gonna quibble with ya, but I’m headed over there to dunk my head.”

The vault could wait.

I realize now, this story could be fleshed out, but I only had 41 words.

Maybe Esther or someone would like to add a bit and see where I goes?

I await your responses and ill give you the weekend to think about it.

I’m thinking a certain blogger I recently got to know through his blog might want to take a stab, but we’ll see!

All suggestions welcome.

I realize also that I have typos, but my editor loved up and I can’t get back in to fix them. Forgive me.

    1. I’m going to wait a couple more days and see if anyone takes the bait I left.
Then we will see where the story goes!
