WOD Challenge 02-24-21 Happy Birthday!

The word of the day is theme, and the theme is BIRTHDAY at my house!!

Today is my dear hubby’s 59th birthday! He’s come a long way, and I am so proud of him and all of his accomplishments! He’s my soulmate, best friend, traveling partner, fishing buddy, father to my children, fabulous provider, all around DIY guy, and more!

Lately things have been strained for him and stress is no good! I want him to have the best birthday, no cares, relaxed and fun-filled…too bad he’s got to work today. ;(

He has never made a big deal of his birthday but I always want them to be special. Not having much money, maybe I can whip him up a fabulous dessert. I did sweep the leaves out and sort of straighten up the garage. I am more of a practical gift giver, and I tend to do helpful things in leu of fancy presents.

My soon to be daughter-in-law is coming over today to help me shop and plan for his birthday. I am looking forward to time with her!

Help me make his birthday special, if you have time, send him a happy birthday on Facebook! Look for David K. Smyth 🙂

Thanks in advance!

WOD Challenge 1-8-20 Turning and JusJoJan Prompt 1-8-20 Happiness

One of my favorite pictures. Josh, with his 1st born, Delaney

I just wished my second born, Joshua, to receive nothing but positive outcomes and happiness today, since he is turning 34 today!

I sent him the historical facts from MSN on this day and was shocked to see no mention of Elvis being born this day. Hmph!

I posted on his Facebook page a Happy Birthday and have cards waiting to mail, albeit late, better than never! His dad will be sending him cash, since he needs that more than anything right now, and my fervent wish is for him to hear the news that he got the job today.

My happiness depends on the outcome, will he get it and keep it because he loves it so? I truly hope so!! Although my thoughts are turning to what is happening in the middle east, I will not let that cloud the joy I feel for my son celebrating his birthday. It’s not miraculous that he made it to 34, yet it has been a bumpy road and I for one am happy he is still here to celebrate.

All three of my sons have travelled bumpy roads through the course of their lives, yet they are all special and I love them because of their individuality, flaws, quirks, talents, good looks, and all. May 2020 be the turning point in all three of their lives, may their eyes open up to the possibilities, and the have just a bit of luck to reach their seemingly insurmountable goals this year.

Heck, I wish that for you and me as well!

Word of the Day Challenge

I had to wish my Cuz a belated birthday yesterday, had it not been for social media, I would have forgotten it all together. When did we all become so disconnected? This is the girl I used to pick pecans with at our grandparents house during the Thanksgiving holiday, sing silly songs with in her mom’s car (Aunt Shirley) and play ping-pong with at her home in Mississippi. I looked forward to the annual trip every November, usually getting sick in anticipation of seeing all my cousins, grandparents and aunts and uncles. It was the only time of year this occurred. Once my grandparents passed away, the trips stopped, and we all slowly grew apart. Well, Mary Kate, I hope you had an amazing birthday…I know you did because everyday you are blessed because of your enormous faith, your sweet heart, and the love of your family.

Happy belated Birthday, Cuz!
