Happy 4th of July weekend everyone!

Today’s word of the day challenge is Capture

Naturally, we had a family get together yesterday for the 4th of July and I got so caught up in visiting and eating and having fun, I failed to capture anyone on film!!! However, I DID capture a video of the fireworks Becky and I went to see later when everyone else had gone home.

I hope the video plays properly, we had the best spot, right on the side of the road, best of all, we escaped long lines of traffic and got home about 15 minutes after the show! See, the Plaza where we should have been was closed off by the time we got there. As it turned out, we had the best seat in the house!

Earlier in the day we had taken Chris to his grandmother’s house to see if he could use one of her beds. We looked through lots of her things, and then went home to get food ready for the get together. Dave smoked two chickens, and grilled some delicious brats with cheddar cheese.

We cheated and purchased sides from Sams that were amazing. Baked beans with brisket tasted like candy, old fashioned potato salad, and my brother Kevin contributed some lip smacking ribs he bought at Sprouts. What good grub! I think I’m still full, lol.

After a refreshing dip in the pool, we ate and then soaked up the air conditioning while watching classics like Jurassic Park and Twister. Lazy maybe, but with my right leg so numb, I didn’t think I’d be up to hours of standing and playing pool. I’m pretty sure everyone had an enjoyable day. I know I did!

My hope is that you all did and continue to enjoy a long weekend if you got one!
