SoCS & WOD Challenge-A Pain So Sharp-09-05-20

Linda gives us a math prompt of sorts for Stream of Consciousness Saturday this week:

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “sharp.” Use it in any or all of its definitions. Have fun!

Since Tuesday, I have been in such pain, intense is the first word that comes to mind; so more than just sharp. It’s of a personal nature, so I don’t want to horrify you with the details, suffice it to say, I’ve had a very uncomfortable week.

I finally had a tele-doc visit, she prescribed some medicine plus a combo of soothing and deadening creams. I’m hoping that fixes my issues or I will have to actually go into the office, come Tuesday. UGH! Say a prayer for me please, I’d appreciate if this “situation” resolved before then.

I had to find it humorous that since the problem involved a private part, they agreed to a tele-visit. Then we had a plethora of technical issues, so in the end, we just discussed everything over the phone. Two trips to the pharmacy later, I finally have the medicinal combo that should do the trick.

Now that I’ve bored you to death with my personal problems, let’s talk about my eclectic taste in music. Now, I’ve already read some other posts today which featured ZZTop’s song-Sharp Dressed Man. While I love the bearded trio, (they were, in fact, my third ever concert to attend) I prefer much harder rock on a regular basis. However, I also love everything from country to soul/rap (depending on the songs) to jazz, with a smattering of easy listening sprinkled in. And, I especially love bands featuring female artists, since once upon a time, I wanted to be a rock star myself.

Some of my favorite female singers range from Mariah Carey to Stevie Nicks all the way to Maria Brink (from In This Moment) to Ann Wilson. Pat Benatar and Joan Jett were my heroes growing up, and Fleetwood Mac was my first concert ever. Nowadays, bands like In This Moment, Flyleaf, Adele, Lady Gaga, Evanescence (Amy Lee), Garbage (Shirley Manson, Gwen Stefani, Lzzy Hale(from Halestorm) just to name a few, rock my world. I could go on and on, trust me, but that would be a long, long list.

I like songs with sharp notes like Alice in Chains uses, lyrics that challenge me vocally, and driving, head banging beats that keep me younger than my age.

Unfortunately, I can’t think of a single other song with the word sharp in the title.

I do know of an album cover with a sharp instrument on the cover though, so I’ll leave you with that. This image also reflects my pain this week, so keep me in your comforting, healing thoughts. 😉 Thanks in advance.

Oh, go ahead and through this one in too!
