One Liner Wednesday-2-5-20-Perfect Fathead Dough Bagels

Yesterday morning I decided to whip up a batch of my Fathead dough bagels, they are what we on Keto can have for bread because they are made from almond flour, mozzarella cheese, and cream cheese. So yummy and satisfying when you feel the need for bread-I had mine with some hard salami and home made guacamole…yum!

My bagels turned out perfect this time, yum!

Thanks to Linda for the One-Liner Wednesday prompt…go here to play along!

Word of the Day Challenge

Hey folks, I just have to share this little bit of info I stumbled across this morning on Facebook. Granted, the makers of this video were trying to get us to purchase their (free) supplement for the cost of shipping, of course, but I didn’t buy into all of that.

No, what stood out to me was the fact that as healthy as I am, I am plagued and have been for years by arthritis.

The video I’m about to share told me that in addition to things I did know, like sugar makes arthritis worse, I need to keep the inflammation in my body down, and eating healthy is best as opposed to eating junk. But what I didn’t know that was shared in the video was that even healthy foods and the way I’m cooking them could be to blame. What???

Watch the video and you will see what I discovered. Now I guess I will have to cut more out of my diet than I previously thought (how am I gonna live without my salsa?) and change the way I cook certain foods. That is, only if I don’t want to live with constant pain. How about you?

I don’t like taking pain pills, even OTC kinds. I try for the natural remedies like diet and supplements. I use essential oils and CBD, yet maybe not consistently enough. My recovery from knee surgery is going well, yet I still suffer with pain and swelling, I have got to get a handle on this…or pay the consequences. Do I want a glass of wine occasionally? A margarita (even a skinny one), well I better be resigned to the fact that I will hurt the next day. Is it worth it is what we have to ask ourselves.

Anyway, check out the video and tell me what YOU think. PS-not trying to get you to buy the supplement-I didn’t because I take enough stuff already. I use turmeric, Boswellia, and some of the other active ingredients, albeit, not everything they put together. I may reconsider later, but I’m going to try hard to do better on my own.

Here is the link to the video.

Word of the Day Challenge

Well, it’s been a busy morning so far, how is your Monday going?

We enjoyed a family get together and dinner yesterday and I nearly forgot to take photos, proving I actually had company over. 😉

My dad Gus, see how nice his face has healed up?

Dave’s brother Bubba-Yea, he’s home from his year-long job in Houston!

I did though, and managed to get a couple of shots of unsuspecting dudes, Bubba and my dad, Gus-then a nice shot with Connie, my sister-in-law and Bubba’s son Stephen with his girlfriend Casey. They are such a cute couple. They recently got an apartment together and I know they will enjoy having more space than the efficiency apartment Stephen had before.

Connie, Stephen, and Casey

Our dinner was put together by my hubby Dave, and brother-in-law, Bubba. He made a smoked pork butt, and Dave made melt-in-your-mouth ribs and sausages. Connie made her famous strawberry, spinach, and feta salad (it has lots more in it than that) and Dave took a short cut and bought beans and potato salad from Sam’s. It was all delicious, leaving me feeling way too full to cheat with the Lemon Streusel cake Connie brought. I heard it was good though. 😉

Today I have been working on week two of a class I’m taking called Learning How To Learn. This week we are learning about Chunks or chunking. Chunks are pieces of information that are bound together through use and often through meaning. Chunks are best built with focused attention, understanding, and practice. Last week we learned about focus and diffuse areas of the brain and how to learn material in he best way, by practice and repetition. This week’s lesson said while that is true, you don’t want to overlearn the same material in a single session, or you won’t likely retain it to memory. The best way to learn they said was to use a Pomodoro technique and focus intently for 25 minutes, then take a break, go for a walk, do something completely different and relaxing before returning to your study.

The Pomodoro Technique

I think sometimes that I may be addicted to learning!  🙂

My goals for today besides blogging, getting my 30 minute lesson done (check), and finishing a story for The First Line (check), were also to do some Diamond Art Painting and maybe even coloring some more on my latest coloring page I’m working on for Linda G Hill’s Escapist Coloring Club. It takes me so long to blog, get through emails, and write all the things I need to that crafts fall onto the back burner sometimes. It’s ok, I have all week!

I’m back on my ketones, which gives me focus and energy to get all my goals accomplished! (They also help me maintain my weight, even if I have a cheat here and there)

WOD-06-19-19-Nourish

Like writing nourishes my soul, my Keto/os supplements nourish my brain and body! Got my auto-ship today and I’m happy to say I’m back in the swing again (or on the wagon with my ketones, more to the point)

Me drinking my Keto Nat in Raspberry Lemonade

Here’s me at 6am, no makeup, bright and bushy-tailed while drinking my favorite flavor-Raspberry Lemonade! I added my electrolytes to the mix so I don’t get cramps and I won’t be hungry until lunch!

These ketones put me into ketosis in 60 minutes, provide me with all-day energy so I can move my body and get it ready for summer. Never mind that I’m 58, I still rock a bikini and I want to look great doing it!

Now I’m ready for coffee, so toodaloo for now.
