Good morning and Happy New Year! 🎊

As you can see from the photo above, we attended the dance party at the clubhouse for a little while, here at Picacho Peak RV Resort.

While visiting with some of our fellow gamers was nice, we aren’t into dancing much anymore, so it wasn’t much fun for me. Personally, I love to dance (although I’m a bit rusty) so I did get on the floor for one dance…not with my husband, but with my new friend, Maria! I didn’t mind, at least I can boast one dance, right?

They had a 50/50 drawing for cash, we didn’t win, and there was supposed to be prizes, but we never found out. We took a snack and even left our bowl. I think the death of the night came when the guy posing as 2023 came out and danced in his underwear!

That was it for us, we decided we’d be more comfortable at home. The girls were so excited to see us, they almost knocked us down when we got back to the motor home. 🤣

We had another adult beverage (that made two for me) and watched the Twilight Zone Marathon until midnight and went to bed. We did see the fireworks from Phoenix on the news. Since this area is in between Tucson and Phoenix and at a lower elevation, the news calls it the valley.

It’s supposed to be cool and raining all day today, so cooking and writing will be the goals and maybe take a walk in between showers. I usually don’t make resolutions anymore, but after some thought, I decided if nothing else, this year I’m going to make more of an effort. More of an effort to be active, to write, and to be what God wants me to be. If that means being a better friend, being more loving, and just mentioning His name to as many people as I can, that’s my purpose this year.

We are ready with our cabbage, black-eyed peas, and ham for a nice dinner later, and Dave is a pro at cooking in this RV. I’m the clean up crew. That’s kind of become the unwritten rule, however, we switch it up now and then. Ahhh, the rain is starting right now. Guess I’ll settle in to read and write a while since everyone else is still snoozing.

Oh, one last thing…I’m participating in Just Jot it January, so expect more posts from me. I may have turned the blog into a travel blog, but I still like to follow the prompts and games of other bloggers I follow. The blogging community is fantastic, and I’d like to say they are also all my friends, people I’d love to meet some day. I hope you join me this month as well as all year long as I write about what we’re doing and where we’re going.
