SoCS – Hiding my Feelings

It’s Saturday and time to looks for a reason to use Linda’s prompt for the day.

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “hide.” Use it way you’d like. Enjoy!

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of a visit from Florida friends that were traveling through on their way to Austin to see their granddaughter get married. What a great visit and afterwards we went to Juanita’s Fish Camp and shared a fabulous dinner.

Tom and Jean on the left, Dave and me on the right.

We have not been disappointed yet at this place. The food and my weekly tasty beverage are always fresh and delicious. The wait staff are busy but pros.

With Jean and Tom I never have to hide my feelings because they are so real and down to earth themselves. Tom is a Vietnam vet, and Dave is a Marine vet and when they wear their hats as they just happened to on this occasion, someone always thanks them for their service.

We had a lovely time and then they were back on the road. Later, I was talking to David and asked if we could go see a movie today (instead of always going to the casino like he wants to) and he said maybe. I hid my feelings of disappointmentagain this morning when he suggested we go to the state fair. It’s like he purposely doesn’t want to do what I want to do sometimes. Not that I don’t enjoy going to the fair, but you get my point.

I was washing some new shapewear this morning in the tub, by hand, as suggested when I saw the hem was already coming out at the bottom of one cami. I didn’t hide my disappointment about that. Even when you buy quality, these things still happen. Oh well, I carefully cut the threads and I hope it holds together.

    1. I’m sorry, Anne.
I did learn why he doesn’t want to go to the movie theater, so at least there’s that.
