Dangerous Dunes-CCC #109

Dangerous Dunes

Along our walk in the dangerous dunes
We came upon a site
An old car flipped on it’s head in the sand
That ride must have been a fright!

The hull was rusty, the pieces all askew
We could see it had been there a while
Perhaps he’d been racing like a madman
I bet this sure cramped his style!

WOD Challenge 5-11-20 Novice Writer

Novice Writer

I’m still a novice when it comes to putting my Words on a Page

Struggling daily to say something sage

Digging deeply to find my one muse

What are the perfect words to use?

Maybe someday they’ll come with more ease

Amuse, inspire, tease, or appease

Might they be helpful, useful, or more

Telling my stories, recording my lore

I wish for them not to fall flat on deaf ears

To leave a legacy, one for many years.

Just a silly poem to highlight today’s word of the day challenge-Novice

I hope all of you mothers out there had a wonderful day yesterday! I did, my family was here for dinner including all my three sons and two of their girlfriends. Chasity brought Weston who never left her side the whole afternoon, and we shared a meal, some laughs, and the kids brought me much appreciated gifts. It was a great day! Hubby made salmon, tuna steaks, grilled asparagus and leeks, salad, and my brother donated a delicious peanut butter/chocolate cheesecake that was the bomb, and some beans and rice. I never took any photos of them but I did take one of my gifts. 🙂

My hubby got me new flowers for my mailbox planters! The kids got me cards, gift cards, a pretty wine glass set, some soufflé cups, and my oldest gave me a book on dealing with fear and anxiety and some Slap ya Mama hot sauce to keep my meals spicy!

Happy Monday everyone!

Crimson’s Creative Challenge #76 A Tree of My Own

In response to Tien Skye’s CCC #76:

My own photo of a tree similar to his, located in a park close to me. I’m so glad I was inspired to get off the trail that day and take a few pics inside the park, or I would not have had this answering photo.

If you are interested, the prompt is linked below.

Welcome to my weekly challenge—open to all—just for FUN, FUN, FUN

Here’s how it works:Every Wednesday I post a photo (this week it’s that one above.)

You respond with something CREATIVE

Here are some suggestions:

  • An answering photo
  • A cartoon
  • A joke
  • A caption
  • An anecdote
  • A short story (flash fiction)
  • A poem
  • A newly minted proverb, adage or saying
  • An essay
  • A song—the lyrics or the performance

You have plenty of scope and only two criteria:

  • Your creative offering is indeed yours
  • Your writing is kept to 150 words or less

If you post a link in the comments section of this post I’ll be able to find it
If you include Crimson’s Creative Challenge as a heading, WP Search will find it (theory)
by ‘Searching’ in the WP Reader (fingers crossed)

Here’s wishing you inspirational explosions. And FUN.

WOD Challenge 1-22-20 Guide

“Lord, guide my hands and words today.”

I’m supposed to be working in my new office, yet here I sit on the couch because my dear hubby forgot to retrieve the heater from under his workbench in the garage (and I forgot to remind him). Ugh. However, oh happy day, my heated office chair is coming sometime today so yea!!!

I found it on Wayfair, David paid for it for me as part of my Christmas present (the office remodel, the new desk, and now a new chair!)

I have been writing every day since the first of the year, mostly on my two blogs, but elsewhere as well. Answering other’s blog posts, projects for Medium, an article for Therapeutic Thymes summer issue and more. Today, I have slated for bigger projects and the fact that it’s oogy outside, cold and raining, makes it a perfect day to get something done. I have no commitments, but I do have to go to work at 1:30, so I need to go and get busy.

I’m either going to tackle a story for Brilliant Flash Fiction or The Master’s Review New Voices category. If I get just one of those done, today will be a success.

Here I go…Have a happy Wednesday everyone and good luck in all of your writing endeavors!

Plowing Ahead-JusJoJan and SoCS 1-4-20

Plowing Ahead

So, I am really getting in the groove and sticking to my commitment to write every day, prompts like Linda G Hill‘s really help keep me motivated! I have been writing on both my blogs, and Medium. I vowed to write more and also to figure out how to at least replace the income I will be losing at the end of the month.

My hubby is busy on my new office, flooring going in today, despite my being quite growchy this morning, due to my brother waking me up with a text message at 4:59am!!! Ok, I made that word up, but I’m trying here, ok?! 😉

I’m hoping  that with my inspirational new office, your support and a lot of prayer, I can make my dream come true. I just have to plow ahead with my vision, stick to my guns no matter what, keep learning and keep trying to help others. Surely all of those things will keep me busy for days, weeks, months and years!

Thank you in advance for all your support, kind words, being followers, and prayers. We are blogger buddies and I like to think, a real community that strives to help each other. I may fall behind on comments and participation as I get busier, I hope you don’t hold that against me. I will try to keep up with your blogs and at least Like them, even if I don’t have the time to comment. Let’s make 2020 a banner year as we all work together to reach new heights and make a true impact with our writing!
